Its a pretty difficult instrument to learn, though once you can its totally worth it.
It shouldnt hurt your fingers once you learn it properly, its the same as everything. with enough practice it wont and youll absolutely love it!
i have been learning for 1.5 years now and i have never had any trouble with the stings hurting my fingers. but i do find if i try to play the guitar i have the same trouble you were experiencing. also the violin, i think, has about the same difficulty level as the piano, all you would need to do is stick to it and you could do great things =]
I’m a violinist but I’ve studied guitar. The guitar strings are much harder on the fingers, IMO, but the violin is much harder to learn.
The violin is immensely more difficult than the piano and any other instrument. I agree with the other posters that pressing on the strings doesn’t normally hurt the fingers.
However — there is one possible exception. If you use a steel e-string, it CAN draw blood if pressed too hard. This is rare, but it has happened.
I currently play the violin and about for 4 years, first get some lessons, not to expensive and it is fun to play, if u already play the piano violin would be a breeze.
NO. I play the violin and some guitar, the strings are MUCH thinner. I’m not bias but I would highly recommend the violin to anyone. But you have to practice between 30 minuets to 1 hour a day to get good.
I have been learning violin now for 3 years. I did find it really hard at first getting the bow moving at the same time as my fingers. Because I had been learning Clarinet 6 years before starting Violin I found it much more easier because I could read music already and I didn’t need to worry about that. If you practise a lot your fingers wont hurt as much because your fingers will get tougher. I am happy now that I stuck with Violin because i am now captain of the stings at my high school! If you practise you will find it really easy. And remember just have fun! That’s the best way to play is to have fun or you wont enjoy it.
since you already know how to read the treble clef, learning violin will be easier for you than for most others. Violin is like the guitar in that it has strings, but they are usually played with a bow and not plucked or strummed. Violin is fun to learn at first, but it gets tiring after a few eyears, but it gets better over time. good luck!
I’ve been playing the violin for about 6.5 years now, and it is a wonderful instrument. At first you might get a bit frustrated, but if you stick to it, it’s very, very, rewording. I completely recommend the violin. After about the first couple months you get used to the strings.
hi. ive been playing violin for around 16 years now..since i was 5.. the guitar’s strings are a lot thicker therefore yes it is more painful in my opinion. the violin has way thinner strings.. i mean of course in the beginning it will hurt (like thong sandals.) but once you get used to it its fine.. it was hard when i first learned from what i remember, like the piano. you press a keys to make the musical note. but for the violin you will have to press on the string on a certain point to get a certain note, and you will also have to watch your posture to insure correct bow movements so the sound is projected beatifully =) well good luck!! join a jr philharmonics orchestra, after your a bit more experienced! its a great experience!!
