If possible find them on the violin (the open strings from bottom to top are GDAE).If you have long hair, tie it back or put it up. Take off any rings or bracelets. Have a tape recorder if possible. Be prepared to commit to a practice regime and start reviewing the parts of your instrument. Other than that, I wouldn't do much because your teacher probably wants to teach you the other stuff :).
