Good Starter Violin for My Husband?

First, you need a full-sized violin (not three-quarter size). The 3/4 size is easier to find second-hand (child-sized: most students keep their full-sized model).
Go to a reputable music shop and get some advice. Talk to a strings teacher at your local school, if there is a strings program. This isn’t a decision to rush into.

Find the lessons first, and talk to the teacher about the violin.
