Great, if I ever audition for AGT 2010 I’ll get you to play scales while I pretend to know WTF you’re talking about.

Okey, say I have a violin. Could I just guess, using a piano, the notes on the violin? For example, if I play a pitch on the violin (say a B flat) and then find that pitch on the piano, and just go up the piano to make the B flat scale, would I be able to find the other pitches of the B flat scale on the violin only using my listening skills and memorization?

Ok heres my report on my situation:
The last time i played the darn thing was in atleast 10 years ago.
And now i know how to play the guitar but i want play the violin, maybe now i will be more concentrated on learning and i want to know the scales and so.
I hope I still remember how to hold the bow =D

This guy is so nice and teaches it great :) sadly I only played a recorder in school, but I wish even today that I could play the violin, maybe one day :D

Ok, I am the newbie in town…I wish to buy a violin that will bring me through my first, let’s say two next years.
I have no idea how to choose a violin, I am in murky waters here: what should I looks for, which brands, what to avoid, colours: does it makes a difference to have a classical “red” violin or a blue one?
Bows: so many, so many choices and again, have no clue!
If you wish to give me some tips, it would be gladly appreciated! (PM me?)
    Thank you kindly!

the secret is -> use your ear ^_^ You need to put in your mind the right tune of each notes.

X3 I play the violin but by teacher was very bad T _ T and he doesnt`t teachme this.

  • merachelanne:

I had issues like that too!!! Did you solve the problem? My problems turned out to be that I wasn’t bringing my left arm around the violin enough… and also I wasn’t using enough bow pressure because it’s too scary up high lol… Try to make the shape of your fingers the same in first position as in the high positions… in order to do that you may need to bring your arm around more… thats what helped me!

umm I’ve been playing for a while now and whenever i got past 4th position every note seems to sound [the best way to put it is] unclear
