your never too old to learn how to play an instrument!

  • Disturbed1117:

nah I picked up the trombone at 12, the bass guitar at 14, the double bass at 15, and the baritone and tuba at 17, you are never too young to pick up a new instrument! I taught myself how to play all of those except the Trombone and double bass.I got a dvd and book combo for the double bass and Iearned how to play the trombone in the middle school band, the rest were easy enough because the baritone and tubas fingerings have a corresponding slide position on the trombone and the bass guitar I just learned tableture. all it takes it dedication, motivation, and a bit of hard work.

there isn’t an age limit to when you can learn how to play an instrument. so no 15 isn’t too old to learn. and you are absolutely right about learning how to play without an instructor is a challenge. that is hard. you should try and get one either in person or over the internet. you might even want to watch videos on you-tube. it doesn’t matter. but you should really try to get some one to help. good luck :) xx

I don’t think so sa long as you have the belief

  • Hola Hi Hello Hey:

    PREPARE FOR A LONG ANSWER!
None is ever too young to learn. It’s hard if you’re 80 yrs old or something I guess, but it’s never too late. But when you do learn it, you can produce beautiful music. It seems very rewarding too(since so much effort gets put into practice).

I am also 15 yrs old…and want to play the violin. I became so inspired to play after watching some videos on youtube and anime. Also, I love to hear the violin anyways. Unfortunately, I don’t have much patience and I can’t really do it during the school yr, because I get a bit too busy with community service and clubs. So, you need to be willing to spend to spend a lot of your time and you need some time to spend (start over the summer) and continue even if it’s just 10 minutes a day during the school yr.

This kind of thing takes at least one hour of practice each day, too, because it sounds really bad at first. (real bad because you need to learn bow control and other things which is aquired through practice) Also, it takes years to become really great or champion-like. But which instrument doesn’t take time? Then, some people’s instrument becomes one with them and they love to play.

bad to okay violins = $300 or less
okay to good violin = $400-$700
    really great violin = $1500-$10000
    best violin = $15000-$500000
    Stratavirius = millions
(of course cost depends on the size of the violin you get which depends on you. it also depends on where you get it. Also, some violins may come in a set with a case and bow, too.)

The more expensive ones are a better quality, easier to take care of, and sound better. Bows are like $50 to $800. I recommend going to a store instead of buying stuff online, because you need to hold the violin in your hands and see which size fits you. Also, I recommend that you don’t just go to any store, because the specialty stores supply better violins. BUT, if you are a total beginner, get a beginner violin and see if this is really what you want to do. (There have been many people who just gave up after a while which is kind of sad if you think about it.) :(

WOW I RAMBLE ON TOO MUCH….
Instructors are $20 to $45 a session or something like that. You can get lessons from a teacher at a collge or university or a music store(maybe). You can get an online teacher using skype, too. But, there are people who teach themselves. You will need to learn the basic notes, how to play high, low, slow, fast, etc…. Try online websites or youtube videos for tutorials or you can get books. Either way, I recommend getting an instructor, because they will nag you to practice. People may stop when they get lazy or too tired of it.

IF YOU ARE STILL READING THIS…
I hope that you will be able to do this, and I hope that this info helps.
    Good Luck! :)

You’re never too old to master an instrument! My whole life I wanted to learn how to play the drums but my parents never supported that and I eventually gave up. Finally on my 27th birthday I decided I was going to learn! I bought a really nice gently used pearl drum set on craigslist and have been practicing and rocking out ever since!

Just don’t allow discouragement or age or anything to keep you from doing what you love!

    Go for it!!!!!

  • lainiebsky:

You can learn violin at any age, however, it’s quite difficult to do more than play a few simple tunes without an instructor. There’s nothing natural or intuitive about violin technique and realistically, what you figure out on your own is almost certain to be wrong. You’ll be able to get some kind of sound out of it and figure out notes in first position, but if you want to get past the beginner level you’ll need instruction.

Is 15 years old too old to learn to be potty trained?

The answer to this and your question both are “no”.

  • malissa<3:

no i played the violin in 4th grade and i still remember things it is quiet easy

it is much easier than a wood wind instrument (i play flute know and like it better)
