Are There Any Good Places (Academies, Camps, Etc.) to Learn the Violin?
My parents said that i can learn the violin over the summer. right now i play the piano, flute, and guitar (though that doesnt really count since i just do it at home for fun). I know people say that the violin is a hard instrument to learn, but im already advanced in piano and intermediate in flute so I have a pretty good basis.
anyways, i’m 14 and i live in texas, so does anyone know a good place to learn the violin? preferably private lessons.
oh by the way, i want to start out on acoustic but eventually switch to electric violin.
(in response to the 1st answerer) no, i dont plan on getting good over the summer, just get a good start; there’s a difference. and the flute is a lot different than the recorder. with a recorder all you have to do is blow, and with a flute your embouchure has to be correct or else the tone will turn out really crappy. but anyways…when i was 7 i played violin for half a year and learned a whole lot. i only quit because my mom made me, and i had no interest in starting when i was only 7. but i won’t quit now because i actually really wanna do it. and piano WILL help with fingering and ear; it did with flute.

Well…you have a basis in knowing how to read music. That’s about it.
Over a summer? You’ll just about get to the point of using the bow. I don’t think you appreciate just how hard it is to learn. If you play the recorder you can pick up the flute and play a few basic tunes within minutes. On the violin? It’ll take you weeks to learn to play any tunes at all.
um, actually, a violin is very closely related to how you play a piano in some ways. You need to know how much a step is, and, with a good teacher, it’s relatively easy to learn. My orchestra teacher is an excellent teacher using a great curriculum, so I was already playing the orchestral cripple creek within a few months of picking up a viola. I’ve been playing for 6 months and have no other musical background, and already I have mastered all the strings and multiple techniques, like col legno. If you are a quick learner, have a good teacher, and have musical background. the odds are in your favor for becoming a good player
If you want to learn Violin online then i suggest you online course. Its name is ViolinMasterPro. The details are mentioned here:
I hope it helps you for learning violin.
Nice thing learning the piano. I find it a very relaxing thing. I joined a website online that is now defunct to get me started and would definately say learning from someone on a video is alot easier than any book…. also better than a teacher as you can watch the video again & again etc … here is a site I found that may be of interest… do let us know how you get on
that is the only place you should need to start learning guitar, there is not a better resource than that site. With its videos and live jam sessions you will get off to a flying start, the guitar tabs websites help alot too, but you need to know the basics first.
