I just recently bought a Lanikai LU-P21, and i must say, having payed about $70 (USD) for it, i am very happy! it came with a chromatic tuner a gig bag(very nice, it's hard to find one for a pineapple uke!) and free shipping, so it was a sweet deal! The shop I ordered it from also strung it with aquila strings, which is pretty much top of the line! i have been playing for about a month, and i am amazed at how easy it was to play! i have tried playing the guitar before, and this was SOOO much easier! my friend, who does plays cello, says that playing ukulele was really easy, especially since she has a background with stringed instruments. As to what brand, I would definitely suggest a Lanikai! I have their pineapple uke, and I love it, but if you would rather have a "regular" shaped ukulele, I would tell you to get a soprano. The tenor and concert sizes have deeper sounds, but it is also a lot easier to start on a soprano. If you need any more help, I would recommend going to this site and looking at the reviews, as well as some of the other stuff! Good luck!!!

Its VERY easy, just google "ukulele lessons" its easier than any other stringed instument: a chord can be just pressing down on one string, as fro quality, dont get a cheap one, 150 is more than enough for a high quality one, but i will let you know that at first it will go out of tune a lot: buy a CHROMATIC tuner. youll want it, if you get a soprano, tuned GCEA. if you get a baritone, its tuned DGBE
