Do You Know How to Learn Violin as an Adult?

I always had an affinity for classical music, especially the melody played on the violin. I played violin for a short while (less than a year) when I was really young. Now I am 22.
Do you think I have to hire a tutor to progress further? Or are there some really helpful online resources/sites??

If you learned correctly the first time picking it up again should be natural.

It’s harder to unlearn bad habits – lessons are recommended before practice.

i was a guitarist until 18,and then started playing violin by luck!a friend of mine had a violin and i just started to play.i liked it very much i had a very good teacher for 1 year, and then conitnued my self.i am not a classical player.i am 28 now and i make my living from violin.i play with pop-jazz-rock bands, even some traditional.i cant be a classical solist(thats impossible).but i am able to play fine the melodies i am given and also to improvise on different styles from jazz rock to eastern stuff.another friend of mine started again at 24,after he stopped at 15,and he has his diploma now.so,its possible.it depends on your apettite to practice.the best way to learn in my opinion,is to play along with cds of great players, trying to copy all the things they do.its the quiqest way to play musicaly, than get confused only with technical stuff.so love it and it will come
