Lessons for Violin

looking for something of college level quality text. to learn music theory.

Ok so I play the electric guitar, well just started. I am really curious how people learn to play by ear and solo over almost any beat. I am learning the Pentatonic scale, but I still don’t understand how the whole “solo over beat” goes. If anyone can give me pointers or tips or techniques that would be Awesome!! Maybe even a website thats possibly free or cheap that accepts paypal that teaches how to learn by Ear and “shred like a beast” lol

I’m learning to play the piano and I’m having a lot of difficulty in quickly recognizing if a music note is a D, G, B, etc. I have to take time to think about it, which makes it difficult to play songs.

I particularly want to learn about harmony, chords, figured bass, classical and baroque.
