Music Education for Parents: The Importance of Music Teacher Education

Is your child interested in learning a musical instrument? That’s great! It’s now time to find a music teacher for him who will be his guiding force throughout his musical learning. But, you should ensure that the teacher has had a sound music teacher education so that you are assured of professional and understanding care.

If you don’t know the basic criteria for searching for the most suitable music teacher for your child, it will just come down to your luck. And should you trust your luck especially when it comes to your child and his entire future?

To give your child the opportunity to explore his musical talents to the best of his ability, I suggest you to hire a teacher from acclaimed music teacher education programs.

Music Education for Parents: Kids and Music – Who Makes the Choice?

Music Education for Parents: Kids and Music – Who Makes the Choice?

Your child is showing signs of musical talent. Who should make the decision about kids and music lessons, the parent or the child? Most people will say the adult. The child does not know enough to know what is good for them yet.

Actually, there are three different scenarios involving parents, kids and music:

Your child shows interest. His interest and ability is obvious to everyone, both friends and family. This is a perfect scenario with a natural and mutual outcome; the child is simply born to play musical instrument.

Your child informs you they want to sing or play an instrument. Sometimes a parent will pick up on the request the first time and other times the child will ask repeatedly. Children are persistent and if your child is always visiting with the same musical kids then they will embrace these lessons and attend with pleasure.

The Need for Strong Vocational and Career Education

The Need for Strong Vocational and Career Education

Why Vocational and Career Education Are Important

There are three major reasons why every school district should offer strong vocational learning opportunities:

1. Vocational competence is critical to the economic health of our nation.

2. A significant number of students, both college-bound and non-college-bound, are experiential learners who will learn academic skills best from developing them in a career or application context.

3. Delaying the career or application context until after grade 12 lowers motivation and learning achievement for many experiential learners.

Consider these characteristics of experiential learners:

1. They are often as or even more capable of complex learning than traditional learners.

2. They learn academic skills best from concrete tasks and a focus on real-life problems.

3. They often do not work to their potential in the relatively abstract-linear environment of traditional classes.

Music Education for Parents: Benefits of Private Music Lessons

Choosing the method of musical education for your child is an important decision. You can’t just rely on your own ideas or those of your friends to make this decision. There are two methods of music education that you need to first study about and compare the pros and cons: music school and private music lessons.

The most important criterion for making a choice is the reputation of the music teacher. In a music school, you cannot choose the teacher. You will have to abide by the recommendation of the school management which manages the time slots of each teacher.

Now let us examine the benefits of private music lessons. The first benefit, obviously, is that you get to choose the music teacher for your child.
