Lessons for Violin

Hi, I am a real music dummy. I’d ;like to learn to play a musical instrument; but I also would like to learn some of the basic theory. Are there any free tools that I can consult? Thanks so much !

Music is not just performed; it is composed; it is felt and reacted to, as any art. In fact, I would add that creating music is a positive contribution to humanity, and that belonging to an orchestra is the antithesis of belonging to a military group. The former is participating in the glory of the human spirit; the latter is pertaining to a forum of that spirit’s baser instincts. Some say that not everybody is ‘musical’. I counter with ‘Has anyone ever seen a 2 or 3-year-old NOT react to music?’ So what’s up here that music is not a category of its own?

One (possibly irrelevant) observation I might make while I am about it concerns those who ask and answer questions regarding music on YA. They are among the most respectful and decent of the writers here, displaying a real attempt to be helpful and sharing.

my daughter is having violin lessons. i want her to learn to play christian songs… for GOD’s glory. i appreciate your help.
