Lessons for Violin

I play the violin and have been for 2 years, I play with my school orchestra and I’m pretty good… first chair.. but I’ve always wanted to play the piano. I was just wondering: is it hard? is it something that i can teach myself? is me knowing how to read music already a plus, or are the notes different? And any other tips will be helpful.. thank you so much!! Also, private lessons.. are they expensive?

I am a high school student and am wondering if learning the piano first would help me learn the violin later.
