I’ve been playing guitar for about 3 years and i recently decided i want to start learning music theory to get a lot better. Ive been entirely self taught these past couple years and have really never done anything with theory. I want to know where i should start. What should i do, how should i go about learning theory. I consider myself a pretty decent player, i just think i need to know some applications/scales/etc

I am looking for a good, affordable beginner’s violin that is geared more towards classical music rather than fiddle music. I noticed that there are several different sizes as well. Should I Take Bass Guitar Lessons or Just Learn on My Own?
Jed asked:
I’m planning on buying a bass guitar so I can play in my friend’s bass. I’ve never really played an instrument except a violin like 5 years ago. I’ve been reading The Complete Idiot’s Guide To: Playing Bass Guitar and the Squier Bass starter pack I’m thinking of getting comes with an instructional dvd. My question is should I pay the extra $70 at Best Buy for 4 lessons, get a teacher (which I really don’t want to do because I’d have to waste money), or learn through books, playing by ear, and looking stuff up online. And yes I know I should learn musical notes instead of tab or both
