I’m 15 years old. I played the piano for 8 years (my mom made me)
but I really want to start a new and challenging instrument. I plan to work very hard, and I love violin music.
Do you think I should get lessons?

I started playing the violin when I was five. I am now 15. I have taken lessons every year. I also have taken two years of piano. I am considering starting the viola as well. I would like to play it but my parents want to know if it is neccesary. I’m a good violinist and I realy want to get into college using music. I know all the scales and key signatures and have taken theory exams. But will playing the viola help me get into college as well?

I am 22 and I’ve always wanted to play the violin. I have been playing the guitar for several years now (so I know a few things about music) but I have never even touched or picked up a violin in my life. I am looking for a good, affordable beginner’s violin that is geared more towards classical music rather than fiddle music. I noticed that there are several different sizes as well. I have smaller-than-average hands with slim fingers. Should I get a smaller size? should I take violin lessons? is it possible at
all to be self-taught with the violin?

Life can get hectic sometimes and most people will do anything to make their lives just a little bit easier! Well the same goes for learning how to play a new instrument. Most people don’t want to go through the pain of scheduling lessons, or having to wait around for an instructor to show up, or having to movie their schedule around to accommodate an instructor.

If this sounds like you, then you are going to be really pleased to hear about a really new and interesting ways to learn how to play an instrument through videos. How is this possible? Well there’s a little package you can pick up called a video lesson system.

At first thought, I knew this was going to be a pretty hard instrument to learn. I was used to things like electric guitars and saxophones. But thankfully I learned about one of these online video systems from a friend of mine. He said it was one of the best things

I could buy into if I really wanted to learn how to play. See, I’m all about visuals. I work better, learn easier, and understand things better if I can see how to do it before I actually do it. Of course things like tutorials are the greatest thing ever because they show you how to do something step by step. It works the exactly same way with these video systems. The instructor teaches you everything you would ever want to know about the instrument at hand, in this case the violin.

Before I did the system I actually hired on an instructor and I found it to be really expensive and sort of inconvenient to me and my busy life. It always felt like we were playing phone tag. And, when I finally was available he wasn’t. And, when he was, I wasn’t. On top of that it cost me a few hundred bucks for just a few lessons.

It was really frustrating and frankly it felt like a big waste of time and money! Then, I finally decided to give into the video system my friend had told me about, all I can say is wow. I was up and playing the violin in just a few weeks. It was amazingly simple, easy to follow and really convenient for me. I could do the lessons whenever I wanted to and when I didn’t have time, it wasn’t a big headache, which to me was a major bonus!

These systems cost less than a hundred bucks! The most expensive item I had to buy was the violin itself. The last thing you want to do is buy an instrument which already costs a good amount of money and then have to pay double or even triple the amount for something extra.
