Incredible MIDI Violin Plays Everything but the Drums

Piloting conventional electric violins, a USB audio interface, and laptop computer, he kicks everyone but the drummer out of the studio, covering bass, strings, synth, fiddle, and more, proving that the lowly 1/4″ jack on your electric violin is capable of some pretty amazing maneuvering. The eLektra Performance System is the first all-software solution developed specifically for electric violinists that provides low-latency MIDI and digital effects for live performance and recording. And it’s available worldwide- exclusively through Electric Violin Shop (www.electricviolinshop.com). This composition (“Machine Epsilon”, by John Silzel) was recorded in the studio with all audio coming direct to the board from a Windows laptop running the eLektra Performance System software. Violins were connected using a Behringer UCG-102 USB audio interface. No latency corrections were made in recording or video production. All sounds and effects were produced using VST plugins hosted within the eLektra Performance System software.
