In Singapore, the more popular music instruments which both adults and children learn include the violin and guitar. The cello, in comparison, is less popular. So if you would like to take cello lessons in Singapore, what are the ways to find a good cello teacher in Singapore?

Tips to Find a Good Violin Teacher in Singapore

Tips to find a good violin teacher in Singapore

If you are looking for a good violin teacher in Singapore, I will give you some tips here. You may be wondering if you can find quality violin lessons in Singapore. You may also be wondering how to find a good violin teacher in Singapore. Do not worry as I will take you through some tips to find a good violin teacher for you or your child.

Perhaps you may be considering to take group violin lessons in a Singapore music school, or engage a private violin teacher to take violin lessons one on one. My advice is to take violin lessons one on one with a violin teacher, since this will guarantee you personal attention. In learning to play the violin, you need to build a solid foundation whereby you learn the proper bowing and fingering technique. In an individual lesson, your teacher will be able to properly guide you through this process. You will find that you progress faster with individual rather than group violin lessons. Whether you take the violin lessons in a Singapore music school or at home, you will benefit from this drastically.

Cello Lessons in Singapore

The cello, violin, viola and double bass are all siblings.  That is, they belong in the same string instrument family.  You can probably call the cello the big brother as it is the obviously bigger than the viola and violin but smaller than the double bass.  But since the cello is a member of the violin family, there are similarities as to how to play the instruments.

Normally the first few cello lessons will consist of the proper sitting technique.  Cellists play their instruments sitting down and there are proper postures which need to be followed and observed so that there will be comfort and ease for the player.  Holding the bow and the angle of the bow is also taken up.  Pressure is crucial to producing the correct notes and sounds when playing the cello.  The cello’s bow is obviously bigger than the violin and requires more fluidity in movement.  Students also have to learn about the bow’s construction and how to correctly apply the rosin as this too is crucial not only for maintaining the bow’s quality but in sound production as well.
